Ahead of the film's debut this August, a new poster for the Borderlands movie has arrived. As part of the CCXP event in Mexico City recently, director Eli Roth showed new footage of the film and debuted a poster that features the main cast assembling.

The footage was only shown to fans in attendance, but the poster is for everyone to enjoy. The slick and stylish poster shows the main characters, including Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, Cate Blanchett as Lilith, and Claptrap (voiced by Jack Black). The poster also includes the movie's tagline, which is "Chaos Loves Company."

Roth directed Borderlands, with Deadpool's Tim Miller stepping in for some reshoots. It's been a long road to release for the movie, as principal photography was completed in June 2021, but the movie is finally done and ready to debut theatrically on August 9.

The Borderlands movie doesn't follow the story of any of the games but instead tells the story of Lilith reluctantly returning to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas, the most powerful business tycoon and arms dealer in the galaxy. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said that the Borderlands film exists in a parallel Borderlands Cinematic Universe, making it separate from the story of the games. "We are authentic to characters, tone, and style, but allow for independent storylines. The mediums are not the same, so the content should not be bound to the same rules," Pitchford explained in a Q&A session in 2021.

As for the Borderlands game series, Gearbox is now reportedly developing Borderlands 4 and a sequel to the spin-off Tiny Tina's Wonderland.
