Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Could Be Delayed To 2024

Harley Quinn and Task Force X might not be seen this year in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League after all. The game from Batman: Arkham Knight developer Rocksteady could see a lengthier delay than even recently reported.

Jeff Grubb, of GameSpot sister site Giant Bomb, stated on his Game Mess Decides podcast--via Idle Sloth on Twitter--that he's gotten word Suicide Squad is getting pushed out of this year. "Listen, I don't want to like cause a panic or anything, but I heard it's not even coming this year," he said. "I'm hearing 2024." Grubb does add that "this stuff is hard to nail down for sure," but his source is a "very good one."

That would be further out than Bloomberg's Jason Schreier reported yesterday, who claimed the game would still launch later this year. He mentioned that this delay was "mainly for polish, not to overhaul the core gameplay that caused the backlash." Suicide Squad is a live-service game that requires a constant internet connection. A big gameplay showing at PlayStation's State of Play saw pretty negative feedback last month.

There hasn't been any official word out of Warner Bros. Games and Rocksteady that Suicide Squad is delayed. As such, the game is still currently slated to release May 26. That said, if the game does get pushed back until next year, it raises questions about how the structure of the title--specifically live service--might be re-evaluated.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
