With Star Wars: The Force Awakens set to become one of the biggest films of the year, it's little wonder that other movies are looking to attach trailers to it. It had already been announced that the first look at Captain America: Civil War would be released alongside The Force Awakens. Now it has been revealed that a trailer for another of 2016's big superhero films, X-Men: Apocalypse, will also debut with the new Star Wars movie.

In an interview with Collider, X-Men producer Simon Kinberg confirmed the news, stating: "Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser, but it's certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it."

Last week it was reported that Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman might be involved in the reshoots for the film that are taking place in January. Although Jackman is set to play the character one last time in 2017's Wolverine 3, he has not been officially confirmed for X-Men: Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse is directed by Bryan Singer, who made the first two movies in the series and returned for 2014's Days of Future Past. It is due for release on May 27, 2016, and stars Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, and Rose Byrne.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens on December 18, 2015.
