Outrageous, hilarious & extravagant to the boot. However in the end, it's very familiar to franchise players.

Borderlands 3 is hilarious to the boot with player & NPC dialogues reaching new heights of sarcasm, weirdness & a love for violence. The story line set in the expanse of the galaxy with vault hunting at its' core & a million kinds of guns will feel familiar to the players who have journeyed these vast lawless lands.

Just like previous Borderlands, enemies vary vastly and are dotted all across the landscape. The vehicle driving can be a bit frustrating at the start but then it becomes better once you get the hang of it. You get to chose from 4 different characters to start your game with, each having their own set of skills to use to the advantage. I played the game with Zane Flynt, an Irishman with a penchant for grenades. The skill tree development can be quite complex and you have to be wise in investing skill points accordingly. Digi clone, Shield barrier & Sentinel drone are the powers of Zane. I chose to upgrade the Sentinel drone to its fullest and it did the trick for me. Up to 40 points I invested in the Sentinel drone skill tree (Level 40). You can also browse you-tube videos to find out how to develop particular skill tree for each player. On Sanctuary (Mother-ship - Home base), you have the option of resetting and reallocating the skill points for a nominal fee.

Claptrap, Lilith, Ellie etc make a comeback again in this series and have their own roles to play. Planet exploration of Pandora, Eden 6, Promethea etc is fun as always with always new enemies to pick fight with and side missions to avail. Some of the boss fights can be tantalizingly difficult. The antagonist brother & sister, Troy & Tyreen Calypso aren't as difficult as some of the other boss fights within the game & there are plenty.

The alien super structures, the vaults built by the Eridians are massively mesmerizing giant indoor structures that awe you. The design is captivating & does justice to the hype built around the vaults. The game does get cumbersome and mundane at some point. After a while I skipped the side missions and hurried to completion with the main story line, since other than the witty diatribes, its run & gun with plenty of enemies that just don't stop spawning.

Excellent game, but wouldn't play it again. Borderlands 3 is a hilariously worthy sequel to this established saga.
