Bandai Prez Says Resignation Not Linked to Merger Talks
Makoto Yamashina says Bandai-driven derailment of merger talks not the reason he is stepping down.
The Bandai-driven derailment of merger talks with Sega notwithstanding, Bandai President Makoto Yamashina on Thursday denied numerous press reports that he was resigning from his post to acknowledge responsibility for the failed merger.
Yamashina says he will continue to play an active role in Bandai's day-to-day operations, the Nikkei news service reported.
Yamashina is to step down as Bandai president next month, but he retains his position as chairman.
