You'll have to use Battle.Net

Activision Blizzard has revealed that Diablo IV will have a free trial on PC from October 26-30. However, it'll only be accessible through the Battle.Net launcher and not through Steam.

The free trial will allow players to max out their characters at level 20, and have access to all Diablo IV content, as well as be able to cross-play with other platforms. Those who participate in the free trial can also purchase the game at a 25% discount to celebrate the Halloween spirit. Furthermore, progress carries over from the free trial if the game is purchased.

Diablo IV had a free trial on Xbox last weekend from October 19-22. The game is currently in its second season called Season of Blood, which launched earlier this month alongside its Steam release. While Microsoft officially owns Activision Blizzard now, the latter confirmed that it had no plans for Diablo IV to release on Game Pass this year. However, Activision Blizzard titles are expected to be added to the service starting in 2024. This could possibly include Diablo IV, but only time will tell.

Diablo IV was released on June 4, 2023, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. In GameSpot's Diablo IV review, we said, "Coupled with a new benchmark for storytelling in the franchise, and a solid narrative foundation for any potential new adventures, it's easy to see Diablo IV as something I'll regularly check-in on for a long time to come."
