Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Best Skills To Unlock

Lay waste to your enemies with the best skills in Star Wars Jedi Survivor.

Comments

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has several skills that you can unlock throughout the course of the campaign. Some are probably unnecessary, while others remain viable for most of your journey. Here's our guide to help you with the best skills to get in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

The best skills to get in Star Wars: Jedi Survivor

When it comes to the best skills in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, we're going to assume that you're playing on the default Jedi Knight difficulty or higher. Some of these abilities are integral due to the challenge, and almost everything becomes moot if the game is too easy.

One more thing of note is that the game doesn't have a level cap, so you won't need to worry about running out of points. Just keep defeating enemies, scanning objects, and completing sidequests or puzzle areas to earn the XP you need. Likewise, don't forget that you can respec/reset your points so you can reallocate them when interacting with Meditation Circles. In any case, we've divided these skills based on their categories.

Best Survival Skills

Survival only has the Resilience skill tree. The options here are primarily for healing, as well as blocking and parrying:

Survival Skills (including Improved and Expert) - This chain increases Cal's maximum HP, which is always helpful. You could also gain boosts from Health Essences. You can learn more about these in our Essence rewards guide.

Improved/Perfected Stim Formula - You can't go wrong with passives that provide more healing for each Stimpack that you use, especially since you can only carry a few. You can learn more in our Stimpack locations guide.

Teamwork - The healing animation can spell the difference between staying alive or getting hit before you could restore your HP. As such, speeding it up does help.

Best Force Skills

There are three Force trees, all focusing on a particular Force Power or usage. Jedi Concentration is all about Force regeneration and Slow Time. Telekinesis, meanwhile, is for the Force Pull, Force Push, and Lift & Slam. Lastly, Confusion is, as the name denotes, for the Confusion ability.

Jedi Concentration: Attunement (including Lucid and Enlightened) - In the early- to-mid-game, it's always good to have extra Force so you can use your powers more often.

Jedi Concentration: Channeled Energy - This helps with Force regeneration, too.

Jedi Concentration: Greater/Extended/Superior Hold - Greater Hold is something you can acquire early in the game. As for the two upgrades, you can consider getting them much later once you have the points to spare.

Telekinesis: Wrenching Pull - Wrenching Pull is mostly obtained as it's a prerequisite.

Telekinesis: Radial/Howling Push - These boost your Force Push considerably, allowing you to blast hostiles off ledges and cliffs.

Confusion: All except Amplification and Redirected Strength - The Confusion tree has some of the best skills in Star Wars Jedi Survivor. This is primarily due to the sheer number of humanoid enemies that you face (i.e., Stormtroopers and Bedlam Raiders), coupled with beasts that can be controlled. You probably want to avoid Amplification, as the damage buff to controlled targets isn't necessary (you'll need them to create distractions, not to DPS). Redirected Strength, meanwhile, feels like a gimmicky ability.

Mind controlling multiple troops and creatures will help you when fighting larger squads of enemies.

Best Lightsaber Skills

There are five Lightsaber skill trees, representing the available stances. However, it's hard to recommend the best skills in Star Wars Jedi Survivor when talking about the Lightsabers themselves, as these tend to boil down to personal preference. Still, we have a couple of suggestions.

Double-Bladed: Endless Hurricane - Given that the Double-Bladed stance excels when facing hordes of foes, something that adds additional attacks to a chain is useful.

Dual-Wield: Backstep Slash - Even though it's a basic skill, Backstep Slash is great for this particular stance. It gives both an offensive move via a quick slash, as well as a defensive one, as you jump away from your opponent.

Blaster: Quick Draw - This is quite similar to Cassidy's High Noon from Overwatch in that you can pinpoint and fire at multiple targets. The only downside is that it's part of the Blaster stance, which can sometimes feel a bit clunky.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is a massive, open-world game, with numerous facets and secrets to discover. You can learn more in our guides hub.
