Finally an ARPG I enjoy

User Rating: 9 | Diablo IV PC

I've never been a fan of ARPG "Top-down" games and I've played quite a few of them, however Div breaks the mould and it is a fantastic fun game.

The hype leading upto the release of Div was insane, only for a couple of weeks after release the majority of people were saying the game is bad. I however have had lots of fun with it and my only real complaints are niggles such as insufficient bag space, server issues with incredible lag and poor loot drops (I'm currently level 47 and still wearing mostly level 25-30 gear. It's also disappointing there is no auction house.

I took my time playing through the game and did quite a few side quests and open world events so it took me 57 hours playtime to complete the main campaign.

The game is also expensive with Blizzard being the first to adopt the new AAA pricing structure and charging the maximum £61 for the standard editon. That said given that I've has 57 hours playtime just to complete the main quest I think I've got my money's worth.

What seems to have killed the game off for many players complaining was the introduction of the battlepass and a 3 month season starting only 4 weeks after the gane came out. The new season means to take part you have to make a brand new character at the beginning of each season and play through the game to level up from level 1 again (although the main campaign can be skipped). Also most of the rewards in the season 1 realm and the battlepass really aren't worth grinding for. It is noticeable that fewer people are playing the game because often in game you don't see any other players.

Blizzard have really killed it with the graphics, artstyle and sound.
