Be a Rockstar with flash-based Beaterator

Reason and Logic are not necessary to make beats, thanks to Rockstar's music sequencer; program is self-contained on the Web.

Most music sequencers cost upward of $999--see Propellerheads' Reason and Emagic's Logic--relegating skint musicians to playing on pots and pans. Rockstar Games today announced a better-sounding cash-saving alternative, the Beaterator--a Flash-enabled, Web-based music sequencing tool. The program is free and only requires registration. The Beaterator allows aspiring electronic musicians to sequence drum tracks, basslines, and other elements without the use of external software. The user can control the beats per minute, upload samples, and create original drum loops using Rockstar's library of hi hats, cymbals, and kick drums.
