Just days after it revealed French tech-house duo Daft Punk would be joining DJ Hero, Activision has revealed two more acts that will appear in the game. The first is Cut Chemist, the Grammy-winner turntablist most famous for laying down the beats behind several hits from Los Angeles hip-hop group Jurassic 5.

A founding member of the then-sextet, Cut Chemist--real name Lucas C. MacFadden--also cofounded Latin-funk band Ozomatli and is a notable musician in his own right, having released a series of solo projects and remixes of other acts. He also appeared in Scratch, the critically acclaimed 2001 documentary on the turntablist movement and has toured extensively with another DJ Hero act, DJ Shadow.

Also jumping on the DJ Hero bandwagon is New York City hip-hop producer J.Period. Best known for his production and remixing of such high-profile acts as Nas, Big Daddy Kane, and the Roots, he also collaborated with former A Tribe Called Quest frontman Q-Tip on last year's political anthem "Q-Tip for President."

Apropos for DJ Hero, J.Period is also famous for his mixtape mash-ups and produced "Excursions 2009," De La Soul's cover of the classic Tribe Called Quest song. (See below.) In the game, he will offer up two exclusive mixes: Q-Tip "Good Thang" vs. Billy Squier "Big Beat" and Gang Starr "Just to Get a Rep" vs. Mobb Deep "Shook Ones, Part 2."

DJ Hero ships for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii on October 27.
