Sony wasn't kidding in April when it said that the PSP was in for a big year. More than just rolling out the overhauled PSP Go, Sony also gave the portable's software library a substantial boost, announcing such titles as Rock Band Unplugged, Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, and MotorStorm Arctic Edge, to name a few.

Of course, that list wouldn't be complete without Media Molecule's Little Big Planet, and Sony has now announced that the franchise will make its portable debut on November 17. A disc-based version of the game will be available at brick-and-mortar retail shops, and a digital copy can be obtained through the PlayStation Network's online storefront. Sony did not reveal pricing information for the title.

Little Big Planet on the PSP won't stray far from the gameplay Media Molecule established in the well-received PlayStation 3 original. The PSP version includes an all-new campaign in which players platform and puzzle their way through vibrant levels. Little Big Planet PSP also incorporates the franchise's hallmark level-creation element, where gamers can devise their own intricate environments from scratch and then share their creations with others online.
