Ubisoft has delayed two of the five versions of the Michael Jackson-based game it unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. The French publisher announced today that the PlayStation Move and Xbox 360 Kinect versions of The Michael Jackson Experience will now ship in "early 2011." The Wii, DS, and PSP editions will ship on November 23 in North America and two days later in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

PlayStation Move and Xbox 360 Kinect owners will have to keep their sequined gloves in storage until early next year.

The Michael Jackson Experience will include a number of Jackson's best-known songs, including "Beat It" and "Billie Jean." The console versions of the game will challenge gamers to keep up with dance moves and sing along at the same time, emulating the style of the late performer. Jackson died in 2009 of an overdose of an anesthetic injected into him by his personal doctor.

The Michael Jackson Experience won't be the first game to feature the so-called "King of Pop." In 1989 and 1990, he was featured in the hit game Moonwalker, which debuted in arcades but eventually also made its way to home platforms such as the Amiga, Commodore 64, MSX, and Sega Genesis. The latter version was recently rereleased on the Wii via the platform's Virtual Console retro-game emulator. He also made an appearance in the 2000 Dreamcast fan-favorite rhythm game Space Channel 5 as the character Space Michael.
