An in-person fan event dedicated to Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption video game series will take place this July in Arizona. It's called Tombstone Redemption, and it will be held July 29-30 in Tombstone, Arizona, a historic mining town also known for the big shootout at O.K. Corral.

Tombstone Redemption will feature a number of actors from the game series, including Rob Wiethoff (John Marston), Roger Clark (Arthur Morgan), Alex McKenna (Sadie Sadler), Benjamin Byron Davis (Dutch), Peter Blomquist (Micah Bell), Kaili Vernoff (Susan Grimshaw), Gabriel Sloyer (Javier Escuella), Curzon Dobell (Hosea Matthews), Steve J. Palmer (Bill Williamson), and Meeya Davis (Tilly Jackson). The event's website has three blank spaces left on its Guests page, suggesting there will be at least three additional actor announcements to come.

"Tombstone Redemption 2023 is a Red Dead themed event held in historic Tombstone Arizona, where the 1880s are still very much alive," reads a line from the event's website.

This being the year 2023, people are increasingly wary of scams, but the organizer, Ken, said in an Instagram video that it is 100% real. Clark, who voices Arthur Morgan, has been promoting the event on Twitter. The full schedule and additional information will be released in the coming weeks. Tombstone Redemption is aiming to become a yearly event.

The local bank in Tombstone will have its signage changed to "Blackwater," a site from Red Dead Redemption, while the city will have other touches inspired by Blackwater and the video game series in general.

Tombstone Redemption will have "absolutely zero admission fee" for the autograph tables, but individual actors may charge their own fees. There is no general admittance, fee, however. "The entire city is your playground," the organizer said. People who want to come in cosplay with prop and replica guns can do so without fear of losing them. The state of Arizona is an open carry state, but fans are encouraged to not bring live firearms to the event.

Some of the sponsors for Tombstone Redemption include the city of Tombstone itself, Kenney's Custom Props, The Crystal Palace Saloon, Tombstone Cooperage, Arlene's, and more. Attendees will have a chance to win one of six custom Red Dead-themed PS5 consoles. Rockstar Games, the developer of the Red Dead series, does not appear to be involved.

Red Dead Redemption was released in 2010. It earned rave reviews and sold many millions of copies. Red Dead Redemption II, a prequel, launched in 2018 and did even better, selling 50 million copies and becoming one of the best-selling games ever.
