All Apple Arcade Game Publishers Confirmed Ahead Of iPhone Event

Apple's latest big product announcement event takes place later today, September 10. It's expected to reveal the iPhone 11 line of devices, possibly among other pieces of hardware, but the company is increasingly focused on its various services. Those include the upcoming Apple Arcade, which is slated to launch this fall but hasn't been discussed in much depth since it was revealed earlier this year. Apple unveiled its rumored game subscription service, Apple Arcade, during a big entertainment-focused presentation this week. The service will give subscribers access to a selection of new and exclusive games across mobile, desktop, and Apple TV, and it'll include titles from a variety of AAA and indie studios.

From the outset, Apple Arcade will feature games from more than 30 developers and publishers. Among the studios partnering with Apple are Sega, Konami, Platinum Games, and an array of acclaimed independent developers, including Mistwalker and Team Sonic Racing developer Sumo Digital. When it launches, Apple Arcade will offer unlimited access to more than 100 premium App Store games for a monthly fee. Apple says more titles will be added to the service "all the time," and future game updates and DLC will be included at no extra cost. The company also made it a point to note that all of the titles will be playable offline--seemingly a direct jab at Google's Stadia cloud platform, which won't offer offline downloads.

Among the games subscribers will be able to play through Apple Arcade are Overland, Sonic Racing, Beyond a Steel Sky, Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, and Fantasian, a new title from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. Apple Arcade also transfers progress between devices, allowing users to pick up right where they left off in games.

Apple Arcade is slated to launch this fall and will be accessible via its own tab in the App Store. No pricing details have been announced yet, but Apple confirmed the service will initially be available in more than 150 countries. You can read more about the service on Apple's website.
