Gold subscribers can grab digital version of 2009 action game for free until July 31 as part of Games With Gold promotion.
As part of Microsoft's Games With Gold promotion, the 2009 action game Assassin's Creed II is now free for all Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Gamers have until July 31 to download a free copy.
Along with the offer for a free copy of Assassin's Creed II, Microsoft has cut the prices of various Assassin's Creed digital content through the end of the month. Check out Microsoft's blog for a detailed rundown of marked-down content.
The Games With Gold promotion was announced during Microsoft's E3 2013 briefing last month. It gives Gold subscribers free games--to keep--on the 1st and 16th day of every month leading up to the release of the Xbox One in November.
By comparison, free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers across the world this month include Battlefield 3 and Saints Row: The Third.
