AU Shippin' Out February 1-5: Dante's Inferno
EA sends players straight to hell in its latest hack-and-slasher.
Video game developers have often been criticised for stealing ideas from films and TV, but few would have predicted that the games industry would turn to a poem penned in 1308 for inspiration. Visceral Games, of Dead Space fame, is the developer behind Dante's Inferno, in which players will hack and slash their way through the nine circles of hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, wrath, heresy, violence, fraud, and treachery. Dante's Inferno is due out later this week on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PlayStation Portable version to follow shortly after.
Other titles to hit Aussie store shelves this week include Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers on the Wii and a new Sims 3 expansion pack. In the next few weeks some high-profile games, including Heavy Rain and Aliens vs. Predator, are slated to arrive, so stay tuned to AU Shippin' Out for the latest weekly releases.
