CGW Goes on Spring Break

Our sister publication Computer Gaming World follows the spring break trail to Daytona Beach.

Comments

Just like the hordes of college students taking their annual spring break trip to the sunny beaches of Daytona Beach in Florida, the folks at Computer Gaming World are making the pilgrimage as well.

CGW has set up shop in the lobby of the Daytona Beach Holiday Inn Sunspree to host a "Spring Break Testing Room" featuring a number of hotly anticipated games to come out this summer, including Age of Empires 2, King Pin, and the perennial favorite, Half-Life.

"College kids come to spring break looking for fun and diversion, and that's what computer games are all about," said Computer Gaming World's editor in chief, George Jones. "Usually, spring breakers spend their days soaking up sun. Given the astounding popularity of computer gaming - a 1.3 billion dollar market that is expected to grow more than 400 percent over the next five years - we anticipate that plenty of gamers will gladly sacrifice a few hours of beach time for a chance to check out some of the hottest new games before they hit retail shelves."

CGW's own spring break started on March 13 and is slated to last until March 26, 1999.
