Cool Boarders Burrrn!

Dreamcast's Cool Boarders burns up the track with better control and more features.

Comments

While this game certainly looked pretty enough at this year's E3, it controlled like crap. Now that we've gotten our hands on a tidied-up ready-to go-version of Cool Boarders Burrrn for the Dreamcast, we've had the pleasure of discovering the improvements.

While the graphics still swim along at a smooth 60fps, the analog or digital control no longer feels as if you're trying to steer a tree. "Nice and easy" is the best way to put it, while making the controls in 1080 Snowboarding seems unforgiving by comparison. The courses are long, and the half-pipe is huge, in both length and height. Each character has two selectable uniforms with a good number of courses. Although we've only had a chance to give it a quick spin, here are some screens to gaze at while we prepare the full-on review.
