Critical Role's Laura Bailey Will Narrate TTRPG-Inspired Worlds Of Aria

It's rare to see a tabletop role-playing game break out the d100 die.

Laura Bailey (The Last of Us Part II's Abby and Critical Role's Vex'ahlia, Jester Lavorre, and Imogen Temult) has been revealed as the in-game narrator for Worlds of Aria, an upcoming TTRPG-inspired game in which you play as an entire group of adventurers attempting to save the world one dice roll at a time.

As seen in Worlds of Aria's latest trailer, Bailey takes on a role akin to Amelia Tyler's voice in Baldur's Gate 3--she narrates the action, responds to the player's choices, and adds a bit of comedic flair to the adventure. The game itself sees you making decisions from a handful of choices, the success of the outcome determined by the roll of the dice.

Each of the 10 characters specializes in a particular set of skills or abilities, increasing or decreasing your odds depending on who's taking the lead on a particular choice. Though you can play through the entire experience solo, Worlds of Aria features local and online cross-platform multiplayer for up to four players.

Amusingly, Worlds of Aria uses a system that primarily relies on percentile dice, dice infamously avoided in most systems as it's rare you need to determine an outcome based on a range of 1-100. Success might require you to roll between 1 and 30, for example.

Worlds of Aria is scheduled to launch for PC and Switch.
