Daredevil to star in new Encore games

Encore has announced that it has reached an agreement with Marvel Enterprises to release games based on the Daredevil superhero. The action-adventure game will star Daredevil, Electra, and other characters from the Marvel comic book series and will be released on multiple consoles. No specific information regarding gameplay has been announced at this time.

"Marvel's Daredevil is an enormously popular character with a huge fan base who are eagerly awaiting this video game," said Michael Bell, chairman and CEO of Encore. "The debut of the console game and the [upcoming] live-action film will not only dramatically expand that fan base, but also propel Daredevil into mainstream popular culture."

The game's release will coincide with the release of the upcoming Daredevil feature film starring Ben Affleck. Both will arrive in late 2002.
