Dawn of War II: Retribution dated for March in Australia
THQ details launch plans for the second expansion pack to its popular RTS; Dawn of War anthology announced.
Fans of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II can breathe easy this weekend, with news coming down from THQ Australia that the second expansion pack, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution (Retribution), for the popular PC real-time strategy game will be invading Aussie shores on March 2.
The Collector's Edition of Retribution will be available for A$59.95 and comes with a few goodies, including six exclusive art cards, a poster, and a code that lets players unlock 24 unique abilities and war gear items straight away.
At this stage there's no standard edition of Retribution available to purchase, although newcomers to the series will be able to pick up an anthology of the series that contains Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II Gold Edition, its first expansion pack Chaos Rising, and Retribution.
It's worth noting that the original Dawn of War II game isn't required to play Retribution, as it's a stand-alone expansion pack. While Dawn of War II and its first expansion, Chaos Rising, supported Games for Windows Live, Retribution is dropping Microsoft’s service in favour of Valve's Steamworks platform.
