DS Tiger Woods not teeing off until December 14

Though it won't hit its previously announced DS launch window, the handheld golf game is still on track for a holiday release.

Golfing gamers looking to hit the links with the Nintendo DS version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 are now facing a slightly later tee time. Originally slated to launch alongside Nintendo's handheld gaming system on November 21, the game has been pushed back by roughly one month and is now scheduled to land in retail stores on December 14.

EA confirmed the delay to GameSpot News this week by admitting the move was initiated to allow for additional development time. Another EA Sports title, Madden NFL 2005, is still scheduled to launch alongside the DS.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 will make full use of the DS's dual-screen capabilities, with the upper screen displaying the traditional golfer's view of the course and the lower screen displaying an interactive course map. More exciting is the game's stylus-based swing mechanic, which the company hopes will add an innovative new wrinkle to video game golf.
