NBA Live 15, unlike NBA 2K15, is coming only to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

NBA Live 14 was something of a mess, but EA Sports is hoping to do better with this year's NBA Live 15. If nothing else, the players' faces sure will look nice.

What you see above is the first image from NBA Live 15, which EA shared today. It shows the faces of six NBA players--(clockwise from top left) Paul George, Tony Parker, Rajon Rondo, Steph Curry, Blake Griffin, and James Harden--all of which are incredibly lifelike. Rondo's face, in particular, looks almost eerily realistic to me.

Of course, what matters more is what these players look like when they're moving--and even more than that, how the game itself plays. As part of the game's recent announcement, executive producer Sean O'Brien talked about scanning the "majority" of NBA players' faces to make possible what's seen above. He also spoke about working to improve the "flow and responsiveness in every area where you touch the ball."

NBA Live 15 is scheduled to be released on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 7--the same day as competitor (and reigning basketball video game champ) NBA 2K15. Expect to hear more about the game out of E3 as EA gets set to kick off its annual press conference at 11 AM Pacific. You can watch it live here on GameSpot and follow along with our liveblog.
