Use the Force, Cal.

During the company's pre-E3 event (EA Play), EA opened with a gameplay reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The demo showed off a range of combat, exploration, and traversal techniques, and the various Jedi Force powers protagonist Cal Kestis utilizes. From pull to push, and the lesser known powers in between, here's what we know you'll have at your disposal in Fallen Order.

Over the course of the demo, Cal used the Force to push and throw enemies and his lightsaber. His Jedi agility also came into play for a double-jump (what Respawn called a Force "flip") and Titanfall-style wall-running. In several cases, he also displayed the ability to slow time. At one point he combined this power with a Force pull, slowing time for a blaster bolt but pulling a Trooper towards him at normal speed, letting the Trooper's own shot hit him in the back. It's possible additional abilities will be available in the full game, as Respawn noted that what we saw was only a part of the overall package.

A prompt also appeared for a skill point menu, but the brief look didn't let us see inside that menu. One can expect he'll be able to unlock more Force powers or enhance the ones he already has. These points are, at the very least, earned through combat; Respawn noted that you can watch combat encounters play out between enemies at times, but that doing so won't earn you that sweet progression.

New story details from the presentation implied that it could tie into Rogue One, the 2016 film that similarly takes place in-between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. We saw Cal working side-by-side with one notable character from that movie, as well as a droid cameo that sharp-eyed fans may have noticed. The action sequences also finally gave us some insight into what Respawn means when it says Jedi Fallen Order features "thoughtful combat."
