E3 2019: Apex Legends Adds New Gun In Season 2: Titanfall's L-Star LMG

Bang, bang.

Comments

Following the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay reveal, EA Play jumped into the changes and content drops coming to Apex Legends in Season 2. While a new playable Legend--Wattson--is undoubtedly the most significant addition, there's also a new gun being added. And Titanfall 2 fans may have noticed this new weapon is a familiar one: the L-Star.

The L-Star will only appear in air drops, which makes a lot of sense. One of Titanfall 2's most powerful LMGs (which is perhaps why fans have requested it be added to Apex Legends for so long), the L-Star is an energy weapon that deals tremendous amounts of damage very quickly. In the new EA Play trailer, we see the L-Star decimate enemies and easily demolish doors in seconds.

Now Playing: E3 2019: Apex Legends Season 2 Adds L-Star, Wattson, And Ranked Mode - GS News Update

When the gun launches with Season 2, the L-Star might become one of Apex Legend's most sought-after firearms. If you're fortunate enough to get your hands on one, you'll need to be mindful of ammo--you won't find any on the map. Whatever it comes equipped with is all you'll have access to.

Along with the L-Star, plenty of new content is dropping into Apex Legends during Season 2. The new season sees a new Legend, Wattson, join the arena. A skilled electrical engineer, Wattson can lock down choke points with her lightning fences. Her Ultimate ability allows her to cover her allies with a turret that buffs her tactical skill and rains down covering fire. She seems to be an excellent support option for the battle royale game.

The end of the Apex Legends: Season 2 hinted the game will see a giant change during the new season. Although it's brief, the trailer showcases a giant kaiju-like creature eyeing the Apex Legends' arena. What it is and when it will arrive hasn't been announced, but we assume the creature's arrival will signal a game-changing event for Apex Legends--something similar to the limited-time events that change Fortnite's battle royale arena. Season 2 also implements a challenge-based battle pass and a buff to Mozambique.

Apex Legends is available on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Season 2 begins July 2.
