EA announced today the release of F1 2002, the latest iteration of its long-running Formula One racing franchise. The series has historically been lauded for its ability to retain the gameplay depth of sim-based racing games, while remaining accessible enough to pick up and play. The series enjoys access to all the Formula One licenses, which allows it to fully re-create the league's drivers, teams, vehicles, and tracks within the game.

Both the PS2 and PC versions shipped today, with a GameCube version to follow later this month.
