Elemental: War of Magic raging August 24
Stardock's strategy game arriving late summer on PC alongside backstory-heavy novel.
The Starcraft II beta ended today and while fans of the Blizzard series will have to wait until July 27 to play more, followers of Stardock's latest strategy game can continue to partake in an ongoing beta and circle a release date in August.
Stardock's library of strategy games will grow August 24 with the release of Elemental: War of Magic for the PC. Elemental is the latest in a string of strategy titles from Stardock, including Demigod, Sins of a Solar Empire, and the Galactic Civilizations series. It will be available that day via Stardock's content delivery system, Impulse and at retail.
As for the game, it's currently in ongoing beta and available only to those who preorder the title. In the game, players assume the role of the sovereign and must fight nefarious death knights and other wicked entities. The game features turn-based combat and allows players to build a town and take advantage of its bustling economy.
Additionally, the game will release alongside a novel titled Elemental: Destiny's Embers, penned by Stardock CEO Brad Wardell and published by Random House. It will relate the game's lore and define some of the in-game terms.
