Entire Def Jam Rapstar tracklist takes stage

Notorious B.I.G.'s "Big Poppa," Kanye West's "Stronger," and Beastie Boys' "Brass Monkey" among 45-song deep listing for game due out on October 5.

No Caption Provided Konami recently settled a lawsuit with Harmonix parent company Viacom over plastic peripherals. Now, the Japanese publisher is moving forward with a new music rhythm game, Def Jam Rapstar. If the game’s track listing is a pivotal hinge of purchase decision, fans will be happy to know the soundtrack is now known.

Today--six days before the title is due out for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii--the game's entire tracklist was announced. The setlist includes the late Notorious B.I.G.'s 1994 hit "Big Poppa" as well as Kanye West's "Stronger," Nelly's "Hot in Herre," and many more.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will come bundled with the game and a wired mic for $69.99, while the Wii package costs $59.99.

Def Jam Rapstar is the maiden effort from 4mm Games, a publishing and development label founded in part by two original leaders of Rockstar Games. Ghostbusters: The Video Game studio Terminal Reality as well as Def Jam Interactive also contributed to the game, where aspiring emcees can sing along with the above 45 songs. The game also features a Freestyle mode, in which gamers can drop their own rhymes over tracks laid down by a variety of hip-hop producers.
