Interplay's UK-based internal game developer, Confounding Factor, is working on Galleon, a third-person action-adventure game. The cartoon-style game will take players to the far corners of the earth to investigate the origins of a mysterious ship. Players will assume the role of Captain Rhama Sabrier, a skilled mariner and explorer. When a strange ship is discovered in the port of Akbah, Sabrier is called in to uncover the secrets behind its unusual cargo. The game will follow Sabrier as he swashbuckles his way around the world and follows clues that will eventually lead him to the bottom of the mystery.

Confounding Factor was founded by Toby Gard, who designed Tomb Raider and Lara Croft during his stint at Core Design. A PC version of Galleon is scheduled for release after the game's launch on the Nintendo GameCube and Sony PlayStation 2 later this year. For more information, visit the game's official Web site.
