The first game shown during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event proper, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a direct sequel to the original Black Ops game. At the height of the Cold War in the '80s, the campaign features several familiar characters, including fan-favorites like Frank Woods and Jason Hudson. There will be optional objectives and multiple paths in certain missions, separating it from many of the other games in the series. There are also narrative-shaping moments near the beginning and end of the story, and the developers showed an early clip from the story involving Ronald Reagan.
