GameTek Spins the Wheel

Vanna White and Alex Trebek get together for Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! for the N64.

Comments

Vanna White and Alex Trebek recently dropped by the VideoGameSpot offices, or at least videos of them did, via GameTek's new games Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!.

The two games, both for the N64, mimic the TV game shows, right down to re-creating the same studios used for filming the actual shows. Contestants laugh, Vanna claps (rumor has it that the real-life Vanna claps 28,000 times a season), and Alex Trebek very pointedly tells the player just how wrong the question "Who is Martin van Buren?" is. Both Vanna and Alex will pronounce over 60 phrases when the titles are released, and both games have more than 4,000 puzzles.

All the things known and loved about the shows will be included in the game: double jeopardy, final jeopardy, daily doubles, and the bonus round at the end of Wheel of Fortune. They'll all be there. And one plus is that Wheel of Fortune includes support for the Rumble Pak - it's gonna rumble when the player spins and rumble when the player's wrong. Not to mention that the player spins the wheel with a flick of the analog controller - and how fast the wheel spins depends entirely on how hard you flick.

Both games are scheduled for an October release.
