Gen V Won't Recast Chance Perdomo's Role Following His Tragic Death

The producers are now taking the time to "recraft" the Season 2 storylines.

Following the tragic passing of Gen V star Chance Perdomo, the producers of the series have confirmed they will not recast his role, Andre Anderson.

In a statement shared on social media, the producers said, "Everyone at Gen V is determined to find the best way to pay respect to his memory." They said they won't recast the role "because no one can replace Chance."

Instead, the producers are now "taking the time and space" to "recraft" the Season 2 storylines ahead of production beginning this month. While it remains to be seen how the storylines might change, the producers said on thing is for sure: "We will honor Chance and his legacy this season."

The Gen V cast was supposed assemble in Toronto on March 30 for the first Season 2 table read. Filming was due to begin on April 8, but is now beginning in May.

Perdomo was just 27 when he passed away in a motorcycle accident. "Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer, and more than anything else, just a very kind, lovely person," the producers said.
