Namco has today announced that it will publish Ghosthunter in North America in August. The paranormal third-person action game, which is currently in development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Cambridge Studio, will see players assuming the role of a rookie cop who, while on a routine patrol in a derelict high school, stumbles on a secret ghost-research laboratory.

"We are always working to deliver new and distinctive experiences to gamers, and Ghosthunter definitely qualifies," said Rod Nakamoto, executive vice president of research and development at Namco. "With its all-out action, supernatural universe, cinematic gameplay, dark and eerie atmosphere, and even humor, Ghosthunter gives gamers a truly unique action-horror experience."
