Sad announcement: due to last-minute complications with ratings/cert, GH Console is delayed in EU/AUS regions. https://t.co/ctq8ducmVe
— Gone Home (@GoneHomeGame) January 12, 2016
The Twitter update announcing the delay attributes it to an issue with "ratings and certification." This indicates the problem may be with content ratings board in Europe/Australia or with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's certification process, which games are required to pass before being available on PlayStation platforms.
Gone Home was originally planned for release on consoles, but those versions were canceled early in 2015. At the time, Fullbright was working with a branch of Majesco, which was undergoing financial issues.
In December, however, The Fullbright Company announced was working with Midnight City again to release the game in early 2016 for both Xbox One and PS4. The port was developed internally and involved moving the game from the existing Unity 4 engine to Unity 5.
Originally released for PC in 2013, Gone Home earned a 9.5 in GameSpot's review.
