How Do You Like Your Quake?

Hoping to improve upon the well-received shooter Quake, Total Entertainment Network (TEN) is introducing a team-oriented, strategy mod to subscribers today. Calling the enhancement Team Fortress, TEN is pushing for a radical shift in gameplay. Player classes include Scout, Sniper, Soldier, Demolition Man, and Heavy Weapons Guy.

In related TEN news, the online service is also holding a design contest co-sponsored by Intel Corporation. Over $5,000 in cash and prizes will be given out in a variety of categories, including best Quake level, best Quake C mode, and best Duke Nukem 3D deathmatch map. The contest begins today and runs through June 1, 1997.
