Interplay originally discussed the GameCube version of Galleon at a shareholders' meeting, but today the company officially announced the game for Nintendo's console. Galleon: Islands of Mystery, which is being developed by Confounding Factor, is a swashbuckling, story-driven action-adventure game.

We wanted to beat what was going on in Tomb Raider in every conceivable way," stated Toby Gard, Managing Director of Confounding Factor and creator of Lara Croft. "In Galleon, the characters are more fleshed-out, the animation is fluid and natural, and the puzzles are integrated into an immersive, mesmerizing story."

Galleon will be released on the Nintendo GameCube this fall.
