The Layers of Fear remake finally has a release date and it will launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 15. A free PC demo is available on Steam from now until May 22.

This remake includes the same general story as the first two Layers of Fear games and their DLC. But with this package, the content will be interwoven for more of a cohesive narrative, making it a little different from the original games. New this time around is The Final Note DLC, as well as The Writer story, which will tie everything together. In addition, Layers of Fear is built with Unreal Engine 5, supporting ray tracing, HDR, and 4K visuals.

The remake has been in the works for a while and was initially titled Layers of Fears before being renamed. It was supposed to launch in 2022, but was delayed to later this year.

Layers of Fear is a collaboration between Anshar Studios and Bloober Team (which is the developer of the original games in the series). Bloober Team has had its hands busy in recent years, having worked on many horror games such as Observer, Blair Witch, and The Medium. The team is currently working on the Silent Hill 2 remake for PS5, though it doesn't have a release date just yet.
