Majestic suspended
EA temporarily halts its conspiracy adventure game in light of the recent terrorist acts in the US.
Electronic Arts has announced that it has temporarily suspended service for Majestic, its episodic conspiracy adventure game that interacts with players through e-mail, voice messages, faxes, and other forms of communication. The game was first halted in an effort to reduce unnecessary use of the telephone network. According to the latest company statement, EA feels that "some of the fictional elements in the game may not be appropriate at this time." No specific date was given for the resumption of service for the game. The company also thanked players for their patience and understanding and promised to announce when service will be resumed.
Majestic's first episode was released in early August, followed by a second episode at the beginning of September. The game makes use of innovative interactive features that directly contact players through e-mail, voice messages, instant messaging, fax machines, and other methods of communication.
