Mario Sports Mix First Look

Earlier today, after kicking off its E3 2010 press conference with a lengthy demo of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Nintendo showed a trailer for the previously unannounced Mario Sports Mix. Scheduled for release sometime in 2011, Mario Sports Mix will be a compilation of over-the-top sports games that appear to follow much the same formula as previous Mario-themed sports offerings. The arenas were small, the action was fast-paced, and powerful moves, such as the dunk that Mario performed during the basketball portion of the trailer, literally set the ball alight.

No announcements were made about how many different sports will be featured, but those shown included volleyball, dodgeball, basketball, and hockey--which was shown being played both on ice and on the beach. We look forward to bringing you more information on Mario Sports Mix just as soon as we have an opportunity to check it out for ourselves.
