Snake might be one of the stealthiest characters around when it comes to avoiding terrorists, but for product placement he's willing to come out of the shadows. For the release of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker (MGSPW), Snake's swapped out his iPod classic (that got him through Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots) for a Sony Walkman MP3 player.

Previously announced only for Japan, Sony Australia will be selling 50 W-series MP3 players with a special camouflaged MGSPW theme alongside copies of the game for A$129 ($104.74), exclusively through the Sony Style Web site. The MP3 player comes preloaded with six songs from the game, as well as a code that unlocks extra characters in MGSPW.

The W series of Walkman MP3 players is Sony's outdoor range, which is water resistant and can store up to 470 tracks on its 2GB of memory.

Unfortunately, local Konami reps have confirmed to GameSpot AU that the limited-edition MGSPW PSP bundle that will be released in the US will not be making it to Australia. Stay tuned to GameSpot AU for more info on Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker as it gets closer to release on the June 17.
