PSP enters golden age
Sony adds a sixth shade to the portable's range...for Japanese gamers only; limited edition Monster Hunter 2nd bundle also coming.
In Japan, gamers have yet another PlayStation Portable color to "enjoy accessorizing" with. Named champagne gold, it's the sixth colour to be made available in Sony's home country, according to a press release from Sony Japan. The five previously released colours are black, white, silver, pink, and metallic blue.
So far only three of these coloured models have reached Europe--black, white, and the popular pink. The gold PSP will go on sale in Japan on February 22, at the standard PSP price of 20,790 yen (approximately $174).
A limited-edition bundle including the gold PSP and Capcom's Monster Hunter Portable 2nd will also go on sale in Japan on February 22. There will be 22,222 bundles available, for a retail price of 26,000 yen (approximately $216), and the pack will contain the gold PSP, the game, a carrying case, a strap, two skins, and a screen cleaner.
Sony commented that it currently has no plans to make the gold PSP available outside Japan.
