Electronic Arts solidified its lead in NPD Techworld's latest list of best-selling games, with Command & Conquer Renegade taking first place in its first week of release. Renegade is a first-person shooter set in the sci-fi universe of Westwood's popular Command & Conquer real-time strategy games. The game knocked Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, EA's latest World War II shooter, down to second place, ending its month-long reign at number one. The Sims: Hot Date, one of EA's popular virtual-life expansion packs, took third place, followed by The Sims itself in fourth. Infogrames' theme-park management game RollerCoaster Tycoon held on to fifth place, keeping EA from taking all the spots in the top five.
