Republic update

Elixir plans to finish its ambitious political strategy game around the end of the year, although Eidos has it scheduled for release well into next year.

Elixir Studios is hard at work finishing up Republic: The Revolution, a PC strategy game that challenges players to rise to power in a former Soviet republic by whatever means they choose. Elixir has confirmed that it plans to finish development on the game around the end of the year. Speaking about what's left to be done, an Elixir representative said, "It's a case of honing and polishing what we have and adding final content where it is required."

However, it's unlikely that we'll see the game in the next few months. Eidos, the game's publisher, has confirmed that Republic is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2003.

Those with specific questions for the Elixir team can submit them to weeklyquestions@elixir-studios.co.uk and look for responses on the Elixir Web site.
