Respawn attending E3 2013
Vince Zampella says company will attend annual gaming expo this June, though it's not clear if game will be announced.
Respawn Entertainment, founded by veteran Call of Duty designers Jason West and Vince Zampella, will have a presence at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo in June. Zampella made it clear today in a tweet, which read, "Yes, we will finally be at E3."
It is not clear if Respawn Entertainment will merely be in attendance at the event or if the studio will have an official presence, perhaps related to its long-awaited new game with Electronic Arts. Zampella alluded to the latter, adding, "I have no intention of showing up empty handed! I can't say anything else right now."
Representatives from Respawn and EA were not immediately available to comment.
Respawn skipped E3 2011 E3 2012 and has kept its first project out of sight thus far. Outside of a blurry screenshot and news that the game will be published by Electronic Arts, no further firm information is available concerning the studio's maiden title.
Speculation on the project has suggested it will be a first-person science-fiction shooter that may support 3D and could ship by March 2013.
