Saints Row double feature drops Sept. 7
First two installments in Volition's open-world action series bundled on Xbox 360 for $30.
Gamers still have quite a bit of time to kill before the third installment in Volition's popular open-world action game Saints Row takes to the streets, presumably in 2012. Today, THQ announced its newest scheme to get gamers interested in the series before Saints Row 3's release, confirming that the Saints Row Double Pack will be available on September 7 for $29.99.
As its title suggests, the Saints Row Double Pack includes the original Saints Row, which saw release in 2006, and its 2008 follow-up, Saints Row 2. Because the original Saints Row was released exclusively on the Xbox 360, THQ will be making the double pack available only to owners of Microsoft's console.
The original Saints Row earned a positive critical reception upon release four years ago, in spite of (or, perhaps, because of) its unabashed homage to Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto franchise. Saints Row 2 earned an equally positive critical reception after THQ expanded the franchise's platforms to also include the PlayStation 3, though the PC version fared less well.
