SimCity sees return of Cheetah Speed
SimCity's fastest setting reenabled a month after being temporarily removed.
Maxis has reenabled Cheetah Speed in its recently released SimCity, over a month after it was temporarily removed from the game.
"Yes, it's true - we've recently brought back Cheetah Speed," says SimCity's Twitter feed.
Cheetah Speed is the fastest setting for passing time in SimCity. The mode was disabled on March 7, shortly after the game's disastrous launch, in order to take load off the game's overburdened servers. Other "non-critical" features were also removed from the game at the time, such as achievements and leaderboards.
Maxis also said that SimCity Update 2.0 is in development, and promised to reveal more information soon.
Despite its issues at launch, SimCity sold 1.1 million copies in its first two weeks on sale. The game's latest DLC offers a free car dock sponsored by Nissan Leaf.
