Sony Online Entertainment has announced that it will publish two unannounced games now in development at two external studios, Lodestone Games and SolWorks. Specific details on the projects will be revealed at a later date.

"We're working hand in hand with two very talented game production houses in order to expand the breadth and depth of SOE's impact on the online gaming market," said John Smedley, president of Sony Online. "Both Lodestone and SolWorks have great track records when it comes to game development. We have very high expectations for the products they are going to deliver and we are very excited to be working with them."

Based in Charlottesville, Virginia, Lodestone was founded in 2001 by a group with previous experience with massively multiplayer games and was enlisted by Sony Online to develop the hosting technology used in PlanetSide. The studio later also created the real-time weather system featured in the massively multiplayer action game.

SolWorks' most recent credits include NHL FaceOff 2003, and the studio, based in Carlsbad, California, was founded by Craig Broadbooks, who was involved with the design of NHL FaceOff '97 and '98. SolWorks is focusing on developing games for the PC and PS2.
