SSX landing tricks on February 14
EA's first current-gen outing for SSX sets the over-the-top snowboarding title for a romantically timed release early in 2012.
Lonely gamers need not worry about how to fill their time on the most romantic of holidays this year. Twisted Metal and Binary Domain were already set for a Valentine's Day release, and EA has added its own game to the mix with the official SSX site now listing a February 14 release for the over-the-top snowboarding title.
While the game was originally announced with the subtitle "Deadly Descents" and a grim tone, EA tweaked the name and tweaked the tone to something more in keeping with the series' lighthearted roots.
While SSX will still feature the tricks and high-speed racing the series was previously known for, EA is changing the formula a bit. This time out, there will be no boundaries on the mountain, allowing players to free-ride virtually anywhere they please.
SSX is set for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's latest preview of SSX.
