Midway's fall lineup is shaping up rather nicely, covering all the bases from sports to driving to adventure. Here's a brief look at what it will offer later this year.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero is set to come out on the PlayStation and Nintendo 64 this October, and it features many of the same play mechanics of the Mortal Kombat fighting games but uses them in a side-scrolling world. The game tells the story of Sub-Zero's - and the Mortal Kombat tournament's - past. The game will feature 16 different levels.

Hardwood Heroes is Midway's newest basketball title, and it pushes the simulation angle. There are buttons that can be used to drive the lane, execute fancy footwork to avoid defenders, and more. The polygonal graphics look very sharp, and it appears that even at 60 percent, Hardwood Heroes will be able to take on the powerhouses of Electronic Arts' NBA Live and Sony's NBA Shootout.

Real players and real teams will be used throughout, with the exception of Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, and Charles Barkley, all of whom have separate licensing deals with other companies that exclude them from the general NBA license.
