Tecmo's Monster Rancher

Tecmo has released a beta of Monster Rancher to us. The game is approximately 85 percent complete, the only thing missing being a fair amount of English text. The game revolves around creating monsters, raising and training them, and then dropping them into the arena and watching them fight.

The interesting twist is that the monsters are created by inserting audio CDs into the PlayStation. The game reads a particular section of data from the CD and constructs a monster based on its findings. Look for a preview of the game soon.
